Introduction
Abyssale’s Auto-resize feature is designed to save you hours of work. However, to get magical results, you need to follow the correct workflow.
The most common mistake new users make is adding multiple formats (Instagram, LinkedIn, Banner) too early in the process.
The Golden Rule: You must perfect your Master Format (layout AND animation) completely before adding any other size.
Why you shouldn't add formats too early
If you add new formats while your design is still a "work in progress," you will create extra work for yourself.
Even with the "Synchronize Style" feature, adding a new element (like a text box or an image) to a design that already has 5 active formats can be complicated:
The new element won't know where to position itself on the other formats.
You will have to manually adjust the position of this new element on every single size.
It breaks the design flow.
The Perfect Workflow: Step-by-Step
Follow this exact order to ensure smooth resizing and animation:
Build one perfect Master Format :
Start with a single format (usually a Square 1:1 or a Landscape 16:9).
Add all your texts, images, and logos.
Choose your fonts and colors.
Do not add other formats yet.
Grouping & Constraints
Before resizing, tell Abyssale how your elements behave.
Group elements: Select related layers (e.g., Headline + Subtitle) and group them (CTRL+G / CMD+G). This keeps their spacing consistent.
Set Constraints: Define if elements should stick to the left, center, or right using the layout panel.
Animate your Master Format
If you plan to generate animated visual, do the animation now.Apply your fade-ins, slides, or effects to the Master Format.
When you resize later, Abyssale will automatically translate these animations to the new sizes.
Warning: If you animate after resizing, you might have to redo the settings for each format individually.
Add your Base Formats
Only once the Master is 100% finished (Design + Animation), click "Add Format".
We recommend adding these base structures first to cover most needs:Vertical (9:16) for Stories.
Horizontal (16:9) for Videos/Web.
Adjust and Generate
Because you finished Step 1 and 2 correctly, your new formats should look 90% perfect immediately. You can now make small local adjustments without breaking the other sizes.
Summary
Do ✅ | Don't ❌ |
Finish design & animation on one format first. | Add 5 formats and then start designing. |
Group layers to keep spacing consistent. | Add new elements after formats are created. |
Use "Synchronize Style" for color/font/image/content updates. | Rely on synchronization for positioning new elements. |
