How to set up and manage Auto-recharge credits

Keep your automations running 24/7. Learn how to configure auto-recharge, manage limits, and set specific payment methods.

Updated yesterday

When you are running high-volume automations, running out of credits can pause your workflows and disrupt your business. The Auto-recharge feature ensures this never happens.

When enabled, Abyssale will automatically purchase a specific amount of credits (Top-up) whenever your balance drops below a limit you define (Threshold).

How to enable Auto-recharge

To activate and configure this feature:

  1. Go to your Settings & Preferences.

  2. Navigate to the Billing & Invoices tab.

  3. Scroll down to the Auto-recharge credits section.

Here, you can configure the settings for Generation Credits or AI Credits:

  • Low credit threshold: The credit balance at which a purchase is triggered (e.g., when I have 100 credits left).

  • Top-up amount: The amount of credits to purchase automatically (e.g., buy $20 worth of credits).

  • Status: Toggle the switch to ON (green) to enable the feature.

Payment Methods

By default, Abyssale uses your workspace's primary payment method. However, you can select a specific card dedicated solely to auto-recharges.

This is useful if you wish to separate expenses (e.g., using one card for your monthly subscription and a different card for variable credit consumption). Simply click the dropdown menu next to the Visa/Mastercard icon to select or add a new card.

Safety Limits & Protections

To prevent accidental overspending or configuration loops, we have implemented specific security measures.

1. Monthly Security Limit ($1,000) Your workspace is limited to a total of $1,000 in auto-recharges per rolling 30-day period.

  • What happens if I reach it? Auto-recharge pauses immediately. You will receive an email notification.

  • How to fix: If you need a higher monthly limit, please contact our support team to unlock it.

2. High-Frequency Protection (3x per hour) To prevent configuration errors (such as a threshold that is too high relative to the top-up amount), we limit auto-recharges to 3 transactions per hour.

  • What happens if I trigger it? The system will disable auto-recharge to stop the loop.

  • How to fix: You must manually re-enable the feature in your Billing settings.

  • Recommendation: If you hit this limit often, it means your consumption is very high. You should increase your Top-up amount (buy more credits at once) so that transactions happen less frequently.

3. Maximum Top-up Amount The maximum standard top-up amount select is $200. If you require larger bulk purchases per transaction, please contact support.

Email Notifications & Troubleshooting

We will keep you informed via email for every event related to auto-recharge. Here is what to do if you receive an alert:

  • Payment Successful: No action needed. Your receipt is attached.

  • Payment Failed / Auth Failed: Your bank declined the transaction or required 3D Secure authentication. Auto-recharge will be disabled automatically. You must log in, complete the payment manually if needed, and re-enable the auto-recharge toggle.

  • Limit Reached: As mentioned above, if a monthly or frequency limit is hit, the feature is paused for your safety. You may need to contact support or adjust your settings to resume.
