Visual Versioning: Track, Revert, and Manage Your Creatives

Never lose a creative change! Learn how Abyssale's Visual Versioning automatically tracks, saves, and lets you revert to any previous visual iteration.

Updated this week

Visual Versioning is a powerful feature that gives you full control over the evolution of your generated visuals. It automatically tracks changes, creates a complete history of your creative assets, and allows you to easily revert to any previous visual version with a single click.

How Visual Versioning Works

Every time you modify a generated visual and save your changes, Abyssale automatically saves the new state as a new version. This ensures that every iteration of your visual is securely recorded.

Automatic Version Creation

  • When you edit an already generated visual and click Save, a new version is created.

  • The original visual remains untouched and becomes the previous version.

πŸ’‘ Note on Editing: Currently, editing a visual and creating a new version is only possible for visuals generated from a static design.

Version Indication on Thumbnails

To help you keep track, the current version number is clearly displayed on the visual's thumbnail wherever generated visuals are listed, including your Generated Visuals page.

Viewing Your Visual's History

To view all the versions of a specific visual, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to your Generated Visuals page.

  2. Click on the visual you wish to inspect.

  3. On the left-hand menu, you will now see a dedicated Versions section displaying a timeline of all previous iterations. The Active Version is the one currently in use.

Effortless Reversion: Switching Versions

Made a change you regret, or simply want to roll back to a design you created days ago? You can easily revert to any older version.

  1. In the Versions section, click on the version you wish to restore (e.g., Version 1).

  2. The preview window will update to show that version.

  3. Click the Switch to this version button located below the version thumbnail.

Once you switch, the selected version will become the new Active Version.

Important Notice: Visual Links

Each version of a visual has its own unique, static link. When you revert to an older version (making it the Active Version), it does not update the link of the asset already used in your campaigns or websites. If you have already shared the link for a previous version, that link will continue to point to the visual as it was when that version was active.

To use the restored version, you must copy its new link and replace it wherever the old link was used.
