How to Remove Objects from an Image with the AI Eraser

The AI Eraser allows you to remove any object, logo, or unwanted detail from an image using a brush and artificial intelligence. It works by analyzing the area you paint over and intelligently replacing it with matching background content — no manual editing needed.

This tool is ideal for:

  • Cleaning up product photos

  • Removing text or logos from reused assets

  • Hiding unwanted background elements

Note: Each eraser action applied to the image using the AI Eraser will consume 1 AI credit. Make sure to adjust your edits carefully to optimize your credit usage.

Where to find the AI Eraser

To access the AI Eraser, follow these steps:

  1. Open your design in the Abyssale Design Builder.

  2. Select an image layer that you want to edit.

  3. In the right-side panel, click on “Modify with AI”

  4. In the modal, select “Remove Object (Eraser)”

How to use the AI Eraser

  1. After selecting “Remove Object (Eraser)”, a brush will appear on your image.

  2. Click and drag your mouse to paint over the object or area you want to erase.

  3. Once the selection is complete, click "Erase" to apply

  4. Abyssale will automatically replace the area with AI-generated background content.

  5. Review the result:

    • Click Insert if you're satisfied

    • Or click Try again to try again

Eraser Settings

By default, the tool opens in brush mode, which lets you paint directly on the image to mark the area you want to erase. You can control the size of the brush with a simple slider, giving you flexibility to target fine details or broader zones. For example, a small brush size works better for edges or tight spaces, while a larger brush makes it easier to cover bigger areas quickly.

If you prefer a faster selection method, you can switch to bounding box mode. This allows you to draw a rectangle around the object you want to remove. It’s perfect for quickly removing larger or simpler shapes.

Best Practices

  • For best results, use high-quality images with clear backgrounds.

  • Use smaller brush strokes for precise areas.

  • If the first result is not perfect, try brushing again with a slightly different selection.

🧾 Things to Note

  • This feature is only available on image layers, within the Design Builder.

  • Each erasure action consume 1 AI credits

  • This is a non-destructive edit: your original image is not overwritten unless you confirm the edit.
