How QR Codes Work - The Basics
QR codes are like digital fingerprints that contain information your phone can read. Here's how they work in simple terms:
Information Storage: When you add a URL to your QR code in Abyssale, the system converts your link into a pattern of black and white squares. Think of it like Morse code, but in a square format that phones can understand.
Built-in Backup: QR codes have a special feature called "error correction." This means even if part of your QR code gets smudged or damaged (up to 30%), it will still work correctly when scanned.
Special Patterns: The three large squares in the corners help your phone's camera recognize "This is a QR code!" and figure out which way is up.
Size Adjustments: The more information you put into a QR code, the more squares it needs. Abyssale automatically adjusts the size based on your link length.
Customization: When you change the colors or add a logo to your QR code in Abyssale, the system makes sure these changes won't interfere with the QR code's readability.
Add a QR code component
With the Design Builder, you have the option to add QR codes to your Designs, enabling interactivity and easy sharing of information. Follow these steps to incorporate a QR code layer:
From the + icon on the top toolbar, click on QR Code
Customize the QR Code Parameters: Once the QR code layer is added, you can customize its appearance and behavior using the following parameters:
Foreground Color: Change the color of the QR code's foreground elements.
Background Color: Modify the background color of the QR code.
Margin: Add a margin around the QR code to control its spacing.
QR Code Icon: Optionally, add an image or logo to the center of the QR code.
Set the Redirect URL: Specify the link or URL that will be opened when someone scans the QR code. Enter the desired redirect URL in the content field.
π‘ Pro Tips: To ensure the QR code blends seamlessly with any background, consider setting the QR code's background color to be transparent. This way, it will adapt to the background color of the template or surrounding elements.
By incorporating a QR code component, you can provide a convenient way for users to access additional information, websites, or special offers by simply scanning the code. Customize the QR code to match your branding and campaign requirements for a cohesive and engaging user experience.
What Happens to QR Codes After Subscription Cancellation
If you decide to cancel your Abyssale subscription:
Your QR Codes Keep Working: Any QR codes you've already created and downloaded will continue to function normally. The link information is built directly into the QR code image itself.
No Dependence on Abyssale Servers: Unlike some digital services, QR codes don't need to check back with Abyssale's servers. The destination link is completely contained within the QR code pattern.
No Changes Allowed: Without an active subscription, you won't be able to edit existing QR codes. If you need to change where a QR code leads to, you'd need to create an entirely new one.
Printed Materials Remain Useful: If you've printed marketing materials with your QR codes, they'll continue to work just as they did before cancellation.
Think of QR codes like printed maps rather than GPS navigation. Once printed, they work on their own without needing a subscription service to function.
